The calculator

The math keeps exact fractions between steps, so a long chain of adds and subtracts doesn't drift. You choose how to round the answer, from 1/2″ down to 1/64″, and a rounded answer is marked with the exact value right under it.

  • Answers in feet and inches, inches, mm, cm or m. The Conv sheet converts any answer, yards included.
  • Square and cubic feet: 10 feet times 12 feet gives 120 ft².
  • The tape keeps every answer, newest first, even after you close the app. Tap a line to use it again.
  • A dark theme, and Outdoor light, a bright theme for working in the sun.

Pro tools

Pro is a one time $6.99 purchase through Google Play. You can try every tool with sample values before you buy.

  • Stairs: riser count and height, treads, total run, stringer length and angle from the total rise, with an optional landing and headroom check.
  • Rafter and roof pitch: rafter length with overhang, slope factor, plumb and seat cut angles.
  • Right triangle: diagonal, angles and area. Handy for checking a corner for square.
  • Concrete: slabs, footings and columns in cubic feet and yards, bags of 40, 60 or 80 lb, and waste.
  • Block and brick, drywall, paint, flooring and tile, board feet: counts and quantities for a wall, a room or a stack of lumber.

Each tool keeps what you typed apart from what it worked out, with a short note on how it got there. Save results to a job like "Back deck" and share the job as a PDF.

Questions

Is there a subscription?

No. The calculator is free, and Pro is $6.99 once. It restores on a new phone with the same Google account.

Are there ads?

One small banner at the bottom of the Tools list in the free version, and nowhere else. No ads on the calculator, in the tools or in your jobs. Pro removes the banner.

Does it follow building code?

The stair notes use common US values. Check your local code and measure twice before you cut. The app doesn't replace an inspection.

Can I move my jobs to a new phone?

Yes. Export all your jobs to a backup file and import it on the new phone. Nothing is stored on a server.
